Reactivating an Account During the Grace Period
When you close your account, we soft-delete it and start a 60-day grace period. Your email stays reserved and your data remains intact until permanent deletion. You can reopen the account any time in that window by signing in.
What Happens When You Close Your Account
- We set an internal
account_closed_attimestamp; your data is not immediately deleted. - Your email remains reserved and cannot be used to create a new account during the grace period.
- After 60 days, we permanently delete your data (status pages, monitors, incidents, maintenance events, subscriptions, OAuth identities, sessions, etc.).
- Audit logs are pruned after 90 days.
How to Reactivate (Within 60 Days)
- Sign in with your email and password. On successful login, we clear the closure flag and your account is active again.
- Or sign in with Google OAuth. OAuth login also reactivates the account after successful authentication.
- If login fails, contact support and mention that your account is in the grace period.
Tip: If you see an error during registration like βThis email was closed on β¦,β simply log in instead to reopen.
What If You Want a Fresh Account?
- Within 60 days: The email is reserved; you must reactivate the existing account (or ask support to purge early).
- After 60 days: The account and data are deleted; you can register again with the same email and will start fresh.

FAQs
Does reopening restore everything?
Yes. Because deletion is deferred, all your status pages, monitors, incidents, maintenance events, and settings remain until the 60-day purge.
Can I export before deletion?
Yes. Export anytime during the grace period. See Exporting Your Data.
What if OAuth was linked?
Logging in with the same OAuth provider will reactivate the account. If the provider account changed emails, use password login or contact support.
What if I closed by accident?
Just log in to reactivate. If you have trouble, contact support and note the closure date.
